THE BENEFITS OF STEM EDUCATION FOR FUTURE SUCCESS

Originating from groundbreaking ideas of scientists and educators in the 1990s, STEM is opening a new era full of potential for future generations.

STEM – An Essential Trend in Modern Education

STEM is an integrated education model encompassing four main fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The goal of STEM education is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle real-world problems, thereby preparing them for a successful future in a globalized society.

In the 21st century, as technology and science develop rapidly, the ability to apply STEM knowledge across various fields has become a necessity. Jobs in information technology, medicine, engineering, and renewable energy require deep understanding of science and mathematics, along with critical thinking and creative skills. Thus, STEM is not just a subject, but a key to unlocking the future for young generations.

STEM – A stepping stone to future success.

According to the Open Doors report from the Institute of International Education (IIE), during the 2022-2023 academic year, the percentage of international students pursuing STEM fields in the U.S. rose to 47.6%. Among them, approximately 21,900 are Vietnamese students, ranking fifth among international students. This trend highlights the attractiveness of high-quality STEM programs in the U.S., which is home to many top universities in this field, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. With a strong educational foundation and abundant career opportunities, STEM has become a preferred choice for many international students as they plan their futures.

Awakening Every Potential, Opening New Horizons

STEM provides numerous practical benefits for students, starting with the development of essential skills for the future. Through diverse learning activities, students cultivate logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills. Practical learning methods not only help students feel more comfortable and confident in approaching scientific and technological subjects but also allow them to explore, build, and share their understanding of the world around them. This enhances their retention and comprehension of theoretical concepts.

Importantly, STEM equips students with a diverse skill set, empowering them to confidently enter a competitive job market. They are better prepared for creative work environments, meeting the increasing demands of future careers.

Creating a competitive advantage in the job market.

STEM jobs not only offer higher average salaries compared to other fields, reaching up to $97,980 per year, but also provide long-term job opportunities, especially for international students in the U.S. With the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, STEM students are allowed to extend their work period, raising the total time they can stay in the U.S. to a maximum of 36 months, giving them ample time to gain practical experience and better prepare for their careers after graduation. Beyond the U.S., developed countries like Canada, South Korea, and others are also seeking to attract students and immigrants in STEM fields.

A Future-Proof Education

The 21st century is witnessing significant changes across all fields, from technology and healthcare to the environment. To prepare students for these challenges, the STEM program at SNA Marianapolis is designed to enhance their capacity for exploration and understanding of the world from an early age.

The school has made substantial investments in modern equipment and employs student-centered learning methods, enabling students to actively and confidently acquire knowledge. As a result, scientific and technological subjects, often perceived as dry and difficult, become more engaging.

An ideal educational environment for comprehensive development.

This approach not only makes learning more enjoyable both inside and outside the classroom but also strengthens skills in teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution. Particularly, STEM at SNA Marianapolis prepares students for innovative work environments, developing their problem-solving abilities and enhancing their competitiveness. With a practical, interdisciplinary approach, the program teaches not only the four core subjects but also equips students with a comprehensive skill set that meets the demands of modern employment.

SNA Marianapolis is the first and only American international school in Bien Hoa City, for students aged 6 to 18, offering a 100% American curriculum and awarding a U.S. high school diploma. We offer scholarships up to 30% with long-term support.
