SNA MARIANAPOLIS - BIEN HOA CAMPUS is looking for an experienced TEACHER LIBRARIAN to commence in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should already have a minimum of at least 2 years experience.

Job overview:

The School Librarian is an information manager with integrated understandings of teaching and information resources needed by both teachers and students. As a result, knowledge of the curriculum, teaching strategies, inquiry and learning styles can be combined with knowledge of resource management, information services, personnel management and information access systems including information technology systems. This enables the  School Librarian to undertake an active role in curriculum design, support and implementation. Working alongside the Education, Research, and Pedagogy Council (ERPC), teachers and students in the development, planning, exploration and assessment of units, facilitating an inquiry approach to learning is a key element in this role.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Be in charge of Collection Development (print and non-print material) for AP Curriculum for school stakeholders.

• Organize Reading sessions and integrate them with a specific subject need.

• Create a library in which the right user gets the right information at the right time.

• Inculcation of Reading habits among students.

• Organize Book Weeks in the whole school. Invite literacy coach, authors and run MYP exhibition and bring whole school together to celebrate Book Week.

• Make sure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and knowledge.

• Instill a love of learning and ensure equitable access to information.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to style and implement lessons and units of instruction by integrating some part of the research in library lessons.

• Support AP culminating projects aligned with the project coordinators.

• Plan and teach Weekly PYP lesson based on UOI.

• Plan Academic Integrity session with teachers in the classroom settings.

• Be the supervisor for Personal Project.

• Coordinate Extended Essays for the Diploma Program.

• Manage Library Co-Curricular Activities.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Science

• Secondary license or certification for teaching, e.g. PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi or similar, mandatory.

• Master’s degree in Education, preferred.

 

Specialized requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to support teaching and learning through effective management of print and digital resources aligned with the AP curriculum.

• Experience in collaborating with teachers to integrate information literacy, research skills, and academic integrity into classroom instruction.

• Familiarity with AP program expectations, particularly in supporting student research, inquiry-based learning, and college readiness skills.

• Proven ability to organize and lead school-wide literacy initiatives, such as Book Week, reading programs, and academic events.

• Strong instructional skills, with the ability to deliver engaging lessons on research skills, digital literacy, and resource utilization.

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative library programs.

 

Physical requirement (if any)

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.

· Must be able to walk across the campus, take stairs up and down multiple times a day,

adjust one’s tone and height, by bending, leaning, and/or sitting on the floor in order to

teach each child.
