DEAN OF STUDENTS

Job Description:

  • Coordinates extracurricular services/ trips.
  • Manages budget for student activities.
  • Addresses student’s concerns.
  • Addresses and resolves student behavioral issues.
  • Maintains files of all student activities, meetings, investigations, and disciplinary issues.
  • Acts as liaison between students, administration, and faculty.
  • Assists in development of school policy & programs for academic success.
  • Enforces school policy and procedure for students and staff.
  • Handle feedback/ concerns from students/ parents re. school services
  • Propose new student services to enhance SNA Marianapolis
  • Lead student councils

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Education Leadership/ Social Science required.
  • Previous work experience of at least 3 years in student affairs or education is required.

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong & effective communication in both Vietnamese and English
  • Exhibits ability to establish trusting and respectful relationships with students.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
  • Maintains professional but friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Works well with a variety of different individuals and age levels.
  • Demonstrates ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

Personal Characteristics

  • Works well under high pressure and strict deadlines.
  • Strong presentation, communication, inter-personal and reporting skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Working condition

  • Office hour
  • Longer hours and overtime may be required at the start of school terms and during peak seasons
  • Some travelling may be required.
