Chief Engineer

Job Description:

[This position is open to local candidates only]

  • Oversee all engineering operations of the facility/building including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, elevators, and other mechanical systems.
  • Be the representative of the school to work with government departments regarding Building’s operational system legacy matters (Firefighting, Constructions, etc..)
  • Plan and manage preventive maintenance schedules and corrective repairs to ensure safety, efficiency, and energy conservation.
  • Plan and manage the facility maintenance, purchasing and outsources.
  • Supervise and ensure the quality of work performed by the engineering team and external contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding occupational safety, environmental protection, fire prevention, and technical standards.
  • Manage the engineering department’s budget, including maintenance costs, capital investments, and monitor budget implementation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve technical issues and ensure uninterrupted operation of the facility.
  • Train, guide, and develop the technical team to maintain high performance.
  • Participate in facility improvement and renovation projects as assigned by the management.
  • Other tasks related to setting up for school’s general operations.

 

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related technical fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical management role or as Chief Engineer, preferably in hotels, office buildings, manufacturing plants, or educational institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proven leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to learn and develop personal skill as well as ME department performance.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is an advantage.
  • Certifications in electrical safety, fire protection, or engineering license are preferred.
  • English communication is an advantage.
  • Responsibility driven.
  • Careful and detail oriented mindset.
