Teaching Assistant – 6 Months Contract
Job Description:
Job Purpose
TAs are responsible for effective curriculum delivery, the achievement of departmental goals, learning outcomes and the meeting of targets and benchmarks. They have a key role in the development of a positive work environment – one that is innovative and responsive to student needs.
Duties And Responsibilities
1/ Student Learning Responsibilities in the classroom, around the school and during fieldtrips:
- Giving extra EAL or academic support to individual, small groups or whole class during class activities;
- Remind student to take notes, be ready and/or participate in class activities;
- Keep notes on formative assessment during learning activities to share with teachers;
- Model and encourage use of English for all classroom interactions;
- Model and encourage the school’s Habits of Mind Practice;
- Implement positive, fair and respectful Classroom Management as agreed with teacher;
- Cooperate with teacher to find the solution for academic or disciplinary issues demonstrating awareness of students’ individual needs;
- Prepare materials for classroom and instructional use as directed by teacher;
- Translate documents and meetings between parent/teacher/student;
- Plan, prepare and deliver club, or other assigned activities, in alignment with the learning principles set up by the school;
- Support teacher to manage the class when they are not present;
2/Professionalism duties
- Supervise students in any area of the campus;
- Adhere to school policies and regulations;
- Interact positively and professionally with all members of the faculty and school administration;
- Provide information and assistance to staff members to achieve common goals, for example but not limited to: assembly rehearsal, event preparation, marketing events;
- Recognize and respects the professional role and judgement of peers, teachers and administrators;
- Address concerns proactively and professionally;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards the school.

Job Requirement:
Education
- Education background: Bachelor’s degree related to Education, English, Business Administration.
- Experience in student counseling, development, education, or related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and updated records concerning student performance.
- A desire to help students in their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation.
- Characteristics: patient, conscientious, tactful, dependable
Skills
- Fluent English skills (both written and verbal).
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Personal Characteristics
- Work well under high pressure and strict deadlines.
- Strong presentation, communication, inter-personal and reporting skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
