LIBRARY EXECUTIVE

Job purpose
The Library Executive will support the daily operations of the school library, assisting the Library Teacher in maintaining an organized, welcoming, and student-centered learning environment. The role includes supporting library programs, managing library resources, and providing assistance to students and teachers in accessing and utilizing library services effectively.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of library programs, reading initiatives, and student engagement activities.
- Assist with collection development, including the selection, acquisition, cataloging, classification, and organization of library materials.
- Support daily library operations, including circulation services, inventory management, shelving, and maintaining accurate library records.
- Maintain and organize both physical and digital library resources to ensure accessibility for students and teachers.
- Assist students and teachers in locating resources and effectively utilizing library services, facilities, and equipment.
- Support the Library Teacher in creating a welcoming, organized, and student-centered library environment.
- Ensure library materials are properly shelved, labeled, and maintained in good condition.
- Assist in preparing reports, records, and documentation related to library operations as required.
- Participate in professional development activities related to library services and education.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Library Teacher or school management.
Job Requirement:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, English, Information Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in a school library or educational environment is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work effectively with students, teachers, and colleagues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
- Familiarity with library management systems, is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs.
- Passion for promoting reading, learning, and information literacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle library records responsibly.

Working Conditions
- Working hours follow the school’s office schedule.
- The position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and working on a computer.
- May require lifting and moving library materials and reaching shelves at various heights.
