At the Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup 2024, held on April 13th and 14th in Ho Chi Minh City, 12 talented young scholars from SNA Marianapolis International School showcased exceptional performances, achieving notable feats and leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.

The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) stands as the largest academic competition globally, drawing participants from over 60 countries worldwide. Embracing the challenge of pushing their limits and seeking new experiences, SNA Marianapolis students once again engaged in this captivating international event, with their aspirations and goals.

With this year’s theme, “Reimagining the Present,” students seized the opportunity to introspect and acquire new knowledge through various individual and team-based competitions.

The diligent efforts invested in expanding their knowledge and honing their skills bore fruit as they triumphed with remarkable achievements at the competition.

In the Team Division, SNA Marianapolis students truly demonstrated the power of teamwork, not only securing 13 gold medals and 7 silver medals across various competition categories but also claiming 2 prestigious trophies for first place in the Team Writing and Team Debate competitions.

In the Individual Division, young scholars also excelled, bringing home 11 gold medals and 5 silver medals. Most of the SNA Marianapolis students participating in this year’s WSC are entrants, experiencing and rubbing shoulders at a major international competition like WSC for the first time. Therefore, they set themselves practical goals of advancing to the next rounds.

Those who had the opportunity to participate and win awards at last year’s competition set higher goals, strive to achieve major awards, and enhance their own study abroad profiles.

One of the biggest obstacles that the students shared during the preparation process for the competition was self-study. They devoted much of their free time for several months to self-study together as well as to practice and improve based on the slight experience passed on by those who had participated before. Therefore, achieving high rankings in the Regional Round, specifically first place in Team Writing and fifth place in Team Debate, became results beyond expectations for them at a major competition like WSC.

In that deeply nostalgic atmosphere, the students also shared their most memorable moment at the competition, which was seeing their names appear on the award list and being announced in front of hundreds of people in the auditorium. ” And the 1st place for Team Writing belongs to SNA MARIANAPOLIS INTERNATION SCHOOL BIEN HOA!!!”. The feeling at that time was indescribable!” they shared.

Through this Regional round, the young scholars expressed that they had learned a lot of new and interesting things as well as deeply felt what teamwork and solidarity mean. They added, “Everyone is aiming for a common goal, which is to bring glory to our families, friends, school, and especially ourselves!”

With outstanding achievements and enthusiasm for knowledge, the 12 young scholars from SNA Marianapolis International School will embark on a new journey in the Global Round, scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in August and September this year.

We would like to express our appreciation for the efforts of our young scholars and best wishes for their continued success in achieving high rankings in the upcoming rounds.
